Wasatch Sport Horses is hiring a full-time groom for international event rider Stephanie Goodman. This is a salaried position with housing provided; home base in Eagle, Idaho. Applicant must be able to travel, preference to a skilled rider.
General Qualifications & Skills:
Equine Care Experience – Prior experience caring for competition horses, including feeding, grooming, and daily care.
Travel Availability – Willing and able to travel seasonally (winters in Florida, summers in Idaho, competing in California).
Rig Driving – Comfortable and experienced driving a large truck and trailer (CDL not required but a plus).
Medication Administration – Ability to administer oral and injectable medications, as well as manage injury care and post-competition recovery.
Clipping & Grooming – Proficiency in clipping, mane pulling, bathing, and turnout for competitions.
Tack & Equipment Maintenance – Knowledge of proper tack care, cleaning, and organization.
Show Grooming & Competition Support – Experience preparing horses for competition, including braiding, wrapping, and warm-up assistance.
Lunging & Basic Groundwork – Ability to safely lunge, hand-walk, and manage fit competition horses.
Barn Management – Efficient in organizing daily schedules, feeding, mucking, and maintaining a clean, professional barn environment.
Time Management & Independence – Self-motivated, responsible, and able to work independently while keeping to a schedule.
First Aid Knowledge – Ability to recognize and handle basic emergency situations.
Physical Fitness – Able to lift heavy hay bales, grain bags, and perform physically demanding barn work.
Positive Attitude & Professionalism – Team-oriented, good communication skills, and a calm demeanor around horses and clients.
